Reno Climate Fair 2019

March 30, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Reno Climate Fair will kick off ‘Earth Month’ by connecting community members and organizations to climate solutions through the expertise and efforts of businesses, non-profits and government. The goals of this free event include connecting individuals to organizations working on the issue of climate change, laying the groundwork to build a climate coalition that is capable of collectively tackling challenges posed by climate change, and inspiring individuals to make a difference through their own personal actions.

This event will be loosely organized around the climate solutions presented in “Project Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming” and will also include a movie screening of “Disruption: Climate. Change.” Participating organizations and attendees are encouraged to make a 30-Day Climate Action Pledge for ‘Earth Month’ and document their progress using #renoclimatepledge on social media. A prize will be awarded to one lucky pledge participant at the end of April.

2019 Reno Climate Fair Flyer

A recent report, Climate Change in the American Mind, revealed that 72% of Americans
surveyed say global warming is important to them personally (Yale and George Mason
University, 2018). A sense of urgency has gripped the nation following the IPCC Special Report
on Global Warming of 1.5° C, and students are taking to the streets to demand climate action.
We want to connect individuals to climate solutions and lay the foundation for the community
and sustainability organizations to build collective will to tackle big climate challenges.
