Getting around Reno and Sparks by bike is one way to stay connected to our community. This election season, Truckee Meadows Bicycle Alliance (TMBA) is celebrating the people who get around by bike with the Pedal to the Polls Photo Contest. Show us your bike and your “I Voted” sticker for a chance to win one of four $25 gift cards to a participating local bike shop.
Entering the Pedal to the Polls Photo Contest is easy:
Take a photo showing your bicycle and your “I Voted” sticker.
Post your photo publicly on Instagram and tag @BikeWashoe, or submit your photo through the online entry form below.
You’re entered!
No hashtag is required, and you do not need to vote in person to participate. Photos featuring an “I Voted” sticker received after voting in person, by mail, or through an authorized ballot drop-off method are all eligible.
One entry per person.
Four Chances to Win
Four eligible entries will be selected at random following the close of the contest. Each winner will receive a $25 gift card to a participating local bike shop.
The contest is open to Washoe County residents age 18 and older.

Pedal to the Polls Photo Contest
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
The Pedal to the Polls Photo Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by the Truckee Meadows Bicycle Alliance (“TMBA”).
1. Eligibility
The Contest is open to individuals who:
* Are **18 years of age or older** at the time of entry; and
* Are legal residents of **Washoe County, Nevada**.
Employees, officers, directors, and board members of TMBA, as well as members of their immediate families or households, are not eligible to enter or win.
The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins on **October 8, 2026**, and ends at **11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, November 4, 2026** (“Contest Period”).
Photos submitted after the Contest Period will not be eligible.
3. How to Enter
This is a **photo contest**. To enter, participants must submit a photo that shows:
1. The participant’s bicycle; and
2. An **“I Voted” sticker**.
Participants may enter using either of the following methods:
**Instagram:** Post an eligible photo publicly on Instagram and tag **@TMBA** in the post.
**Online:** Submit an eligible photo through the online entry form at **BikeWashoe.org/pedal-to-the-polls**.
No specific hashtag is required.
Only **one photo entry per person** is permitted, regardless of the method of entry. If a participant submits more than one entry, only the first eligible entry received may be considered.
4. Voting Is Not Required
The Pedal to the Polls Photo Contest is intended to celebrate civic participation and getting around by bicycle.
**Participants do not have to vote to enter the photo contest.** An “I Voted” sticker is part of the photo contest theme and entry requirement and is not intended to verify whether an entrant actually voted.
Participants may submit photos featuring an “I Voted” sticker received through voting **in person, by mail, or by returning a ballot through an authorized ballot drop-off method**.
The photo does not need to be taken at a polling location.
5. Photo Requirements
Each entry must be an original photograph submitted by the entrant and must clearly show both the entrant’s bicycle and an “I Voted” sticker.
Photos must be appropriate for public display and must not contain unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate material, or material that infringes upon the rights of another person or entity.
Participants are responsible for obtaining permission from any identifiable individuals appearing in their submitted photographs.
TMBA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any photo that does not comply with these Official Rules.
6. Prizes
Four (4) winners will each receive **one $25 gift card to a participating local bike shop**, for a total of four prizes with an aggregate value of **$100**.
The specific participating bike shop may be selected by TMBA.
Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash. TMBA reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.
Any taxes or other expenses associated with accepting or using a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
7. Winner Selection
Four (4) winners will be selected by **random drawing from all eligible photo entries received during the Contest Period**.
The Contest is not judged based on photographic skill, creativity, popularity, number of likes, or any other subjective criteria. **All eligible entries have an equal chance of being selected.**
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
The drawing will take place following the close of the Contest Period.
8. Winner Notification
Potential winners will be notified by **Instagram direct message or email**, using the contact information associated with their entry.
Each potential winner will have **48 hours from the time of notification** to respond.
If a potential winner does not respond within 48 hours, cannot be contacted, is determined to be ineligible, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules, TMBA may select an alternate winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries.
9. Use of Submitted Photos
By entering the Contest, participants grant TMBA permission to repost or share their submitted photograph on TMBA’s social media channels, website, newsletters, and other promotional communications related to TMBA and the Pedal to the Polls initiative.
Participants retain ownership of their submitted photographs.
TMBA will not provide additional compensation for permitted use of an entry photograph.
10. Instagram Disclaimer
This Contest is **in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram**.
By entering through Instagram, participants release Instagram from any responsibility or liability related to the Contest.
Participants understand that they are providing their information to TMBA and not to Instagram.
11. General Conditions
By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of TMBA, which are final and binding with respect to matters relating to the Contest.
TMBA reserves the right to disqualify any participant who attempts to interfere with the operation of the Contest, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a fraudulent, disruptive, or unfair manner.
TMBA reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, unforeseen circumstances, or any other factor beyond TMBA’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest.
12. Limitation of Liability
By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Truckee Meadows Bicycle Alliance, its officers, directors, board members, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses arising out of or relating to participation in the Contest or acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize, except where prohibited by law.
